HOUSEKEEPING
Thanks to everyone who took the plunge, crossed the threshold and subscribed to Xanaduum. Exuberant thanks to the strange ones in the dome who slapped down cash to help finance our explorations and thanks also to those who left comments in the bit at the end for comments. Your feedback is much appreciated and will help guide us as we proceed through Xanaduum’s gloomy corridors in search of meaning and marzipan.
Shaine – it’s great to hear from you and good to know you’re still in flight ten years after the Mayan apocalypse!
Keep the commentary coming! The current plan is to open a monthly channel where guests can ask questions, share thoughts, and generally engage in vibrant dialogue with whichever of GM’s many temporal variants happens to be sitting at the head of the table that day!
HUGHES IN EXCELSIS
Thanks to my pal Rian Hughes for his rendering of the Xanaduum mansion and logos.
No bookshelf is complete without Rian’s revolutionary non-fiction book ‘CULTure’, along with his must-have mind-bending novels ‘XX’ and ‘The Black Locomotive’.
Here is a picture of the supercilious Hughes/Morrison duo as young men, making for a fun compare-and-contrast with their current bedraggled and browbeaten physical extensions 30 years later!

COMING ATTRACTIONS…
As we sift through the shining debris of haunted Xanaduum, the best and strangest is yet to come!
Music soon and magic, and the mysteries of Bulletins from Bizarroworld – a regular series where I’ll be cursing my foes and setting the record straight on various myths and misconceptions around my work – were the Stepford Cuckoos really named to be an acronym of SPICE? Did I sneak a Superman porn parody into Action Comics? Etc. - and pointing readers to some things they may have missed in all their favourite stories!
But before all that, join us if you dare, for St. Valentine’s Day here in Xanaduum on Monday 14th February, when we venture into the magical recesses of the Library once more, and totally bite James Tynion’s style the IVth by releasing some startling behind-the-scenes annotations for recently concluded comic book series Superman and the Authority with Mikel Janin and others!
Dinnae miss previously unrevealed secrets from the murky origins of my final DC superhero book!
But first the ultimate pitch from a taxi driver–
‘Here’s your whole story, pal. It’s yours for free… you ready?...
‘Batman? Werr urr ye? - Dracula’s in town!’
God Save the Queer!
Me, posting a lovely commission from artist Max Kay I had done as a tribute to Grant Morrison’s Superman work, and also incidentally posting another thing about their Superman: Gosh, I hope it's true Grant looks at Twitter!
Monkey's Paw: *Curls a finger, then with the remaining fingers pokes me in the eyes like Moe Howard*
Well, Batman is •obviously• an Avatar of Van Helsing : that’s just a GIVEN —
At one point, he notes that Dracula has The Mind of a Child. Hmm.
There are Two Species of HyperAdapter : The Vampire and The Cyborg — The Crucial Detail is CONSENT. Consent creates A Game, NOT A Crime.
The Cyborg is a Person, with Technology (of ANY kind, not just machinery), grafted ONTO his or her Being;
A Vampire is an EX-Person who KILLS Other People, and TAKES Their Stuff — reiki to the rescue!
