I’ve just ordered Vol 1 and haven’t read it yet (there was a LOT of fandom opinion that it wasn’t worth anyone’s time. Sigh. Listening to fandom is how I missed seeing the Wachowski’s great SPEED RACER on the big screen), but there was one potential character (I don’t know if they were in any of the volumes of your opus, but will comment as if they weren’t) who seems to belong in WW perfectly. Tiresias! Plaything of the gods, when Zeus and Hera asked him who had the most pleasure during sex, men or women, the canny Greek dissembled, saying he couldn’t really know, never having been a woman. Zap! said Hera, and fixed that.

Tiresias lived 7 years as a woman, and it seems perfectly appropriate that she would find Paradise Island in that time. Even blind, she had the gift of prophecy, remember.

As I said, this probably didn’t happen in your WW, but dammit, it certainly seems like it OUGHT to happen in the book sometime.
