Soundtrack: Hold Onto Your Loneliness – Don McGlashan
Like angels, like Victoria and Niagara, rain falls. The swallows have gone, and I worry about them on every inch of their mad, arduous, aerial journey to Africa through storm and sky and a thousand dangers. I read an article ‘Where have all the swallows gone?’ and figured they must have ended up here. We had dozens nesting and breeding in the eaves this summer!
The months disappear in great gulps. The sun is down at 7.00. Seasonal fungi shake soil from sodden caps and gills. The gardens are flooded, the lanes submerged in gush and spate down off the hills.
Ah, water! Element of Love!
Seems like a day, a wonderful day for playing Beethoven’s 9th on a kazoo, shoving the Forth Rail Bridge in one ear and out the other and saying ‘Put the truncheon away, officer! I only came to read the meter!’
Thanks to everyone who came along to my talk with the inimitable Frankie Boyle at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Monday past. I enjoyed the oddball whimsy of the night!
By now you’ll have seen the first teaser for POISON PEACH, our next Xanaduum Presents extravaganza. If it was a movie genre it would be Teen Romantic Comedy Spy-Fi…
The updated, revised Europa Editions version of my novel Luda is released today, Friday 13th in the UK!
Some Luda related events will be appearing here at Xanaduum over the next week!
